2017 was a very bad year,My Mothers Friend 5 and Google's here to remind us of that.

The tech giant released a list and "Year in Search 2017" video detailing all of 2017's highest-trending searches, which, as you may have guessed are all fairly grim.

The moving video begins on a somber note, with searches that include: "how far can North Korean missiles go" and "how do wildfires start." Yikes.

But before you give up on humanity completely, Google does remind us of the more hopeful and inspiring parts of 2017, like the Women's March and Lena Waithe's moving Emmy acceptance speech.

We're not sure we even wanna know what fresh horrors Google's 2018 year in review will someday contain.
