Previously, a netizen commented on Haier’s Douyin (the Chinese version of TikTok) account with their design for a “lazy washing machine” that could wash outerwear, underwear, shoes, and socks at the same time, to which Haier staff responded that CEO Zhou Yunjie had seen the idea and immediately instructed engineers to start developing it. Haier’s Douyin account has even said that the company hopes this user will become the spokesperson for the new product. [Haier Group, in Chinese]
