This was unexpected.
A tabletop game reimagining of the Capcom classic,Watch Vagabond OnlineResident Evil 2, is up on Kickstarter and has already shattered its funding goal. With 25 days to go as of this writing, the game already has $521,694 pledged on a $201,584 goal.

The project comes from Steamforged Games, the same team that brought the tremendously successful Dark Soulstabletop game to Kickstarter. By the time the funding period concluded, Steamforged had amassed £3.7 million from backers.
Resident Evil 2is a cooperative game for 1-4 players. It's a miniatures game set in Raccoon City, and featuring -- based on the photos, at least -- an ever-changing, card-based map. There's a full test playthrough of the game that I haven't had a chance to watch yet, but it should offer a better sense of how the game works.
If you're interested in plunking down some money for this, there's just one backer tier available. For roughly $94 (£70), you get the base game, the "B-Files" expansion set, a Kickstarter exclusive alternative costume for Leon Kennedy, and any unlocked stretch goals.
There's also an assortment of optional add-ons that you'll be able to add to your order, if you're feeling particularly spendy. The Kickstarter campaign is set to end on Oct. 23, and Steamforged expects the game to ship in Sept. 2018.
